Summery

As there are many people who suffer with pain in our local community and doctors cant cure or don’t understand fully what is going on. This is a group which is close to our sport coach as his dad suffers with chronic pain.

Leading up to competitions it was important to see how our fighters would cope with the pressure of being in a ring. Our sports coach organised and action packed evening of 1 to 1 matches which gave the fighters, friends and family a great insight on what they do.

The atmosphere at Unite Southport was amazing, the crowd was sat on the edges off their seats all night cheering on all the talented students from across all Unite clubs.

The total money raised from the evening was this will be donated to the group, which will help towards new equipment.

Even some Doctors and nurses took time out off their busy schedule to come to the event, Dr Chris Barker (Clinical lead at community pain service), Sue Mawdsley (specialist Pain Nurse), Lindsey (Physiotherapist) and Marion Burke (Community Pain Service secretary).
