Gradings are special events where students have the opportunity to earn their next belt and demonstrate their progress.

To take part, students must have been awarded their black stripe on their belt or be invited by their coach.

What Happens at a Grading​

During a grading, students are assessed on skills appropriate to their level, including:

• Basic techniques and combinations

• Sparring and partner work

• Discipline, focus, and attitude

• Patterns (where applicable)

Dragons students are also assessed on:

• Punching and kicking techniques

• Combination drills using punches and kicks

• Listening skills, behaviour, and discipline

Gradings are designed to be supportive and encouraging, helping students build confidence while celebrating their achievements.
