Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026 · Version 1.0

This Privacy Policy explains how Unite Martial Arts LLP, trading as Unite Martial Arts (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects and uses your personal data when you use the Unshakeable app (“the app”). We are the data controller for the purposes of UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. The data we collect

Account details

Your name and email address when you create an account, and a record of your membership status.

Location data

Two features use your device location, and only when you choose to use them:

  • SOS: when you trigger an alert, we use your current location so your chosen trusted contacts can see where you are.

  • Trip tracker: while you have a trip running, we share your live location with the trusted contact you select, so they can follow your journey.

Location is used only while these features are active. You can turn location permission off at any time in your iPhone settings, though the SOS and trip tracker features will not work without it.

Trusted contacts

The names and contact details (phone number and/or email) of the people you choose to alert. Please only add people who have agreed to be your trusted contact.

Assessment scores

Your answers to the self-assessment “safety score” and how it changes over time, so you can see your progress.

Community content

Posts, comments and reactions you share in the members’ community, and any reports you make about other members’ content. You can report posts and block another member so their posts are hidden from you; we use this information to keep the community safe.

Payment and subscription

App subscriptions are handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not receive or store your card details. We use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription status (active, trialling, renewed, cancelled) so we can give you access to members’ features. Any payments you make through our website (such as event tickets) are processed by Stripe. Apple’s and our providers’ own privacy terms apply to the payment itself.

Usage and technical data

Basic app analytics and crash data (for example, which features are used and error logs) to keep the app working and improve it. This comes from Apple’s own App Analytics only — we do not use third-party analytics tools.

2. Why we use your data (lawful bases)

  • To provide the features you ask for — SOS, trip tracker, your score, the programme and community (performance of our contract with you).

  • To manage your membership and payments (contract, and our legitimate interest in running the service).

  • To keep the app safe and working (legitimate interest).

  • To send you service messages about your account or subscription (contract / legitimate interest).

  • For marketing, only if you opt in (consent) — you can withdraw at any time.

Location data is treated with particular care and is processed only to deliver the SOS and trip-tracker features you actively choose to use.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with:

  • Your chosen trusted contacts — and only the location you trigger for them.

  • Service providers who run the app for us — for example Replit (hosting), RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple (app subscription processing), Stripe (web payments), and our analytics and messaging providers — under contracts that require them to protect your data.

  • Authorities — if we are required to by law.

4. Where your data is held

We store account and app data in our application database and private file storage, hosted by Replit in the UK. Subscriptions bought inside the app are handled by Apple In-App Purchase and managed through RevenueCat; payments made through our website (such as event tickets) are processed by Stripe.

Some of our providers, including RevenueCat, Apple and Stripe, are based outside the UK, so some personal data is processed in other countries (including the United States). Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on the applicable safeguards in our providers’ data-processing terms, such as an adequacy regulation or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA).

5. How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your account and progress data for as long as you have an account, and for a reasonable period afterwards. Location data from SOS and trip-tracker events is kept only as long as needed to provide the feature and then deleted or anonymised.

You can delete your account at any time in the app, or by emailing us at office@unitemartialarts.com. Deleting your account removes your personal data from the app. Please note that deleting your account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription — you cancel that in your Apple ID / App Store settings.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. You can also withdraw consent for marketing at any time, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these, email office@unitemartialarts.com.

7. Children

The app is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with an updated date, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
